When a Pokemon used a move in the original GSC, that pokemon's HP bar used to disapear during the attack animation. On the VC version, it does not.

I knew that there was something off when I saw the HP bar move with the Pokemon when it used Tackle, but I turned animations off shortly after and forgot about it. But you're absolutely right! I wonder if this is more in line with the Japanese version or something? Are Phanpy and Teddiursa's exclusivity still swapped compared to the JPN versions?

I thought that was a bit odd but I chalked it up to just not remembering, guess I'm not crazy afterall lol.

I though something looked odd. So I was like "wait something looks difderent when I fight. Let's check it out"

Pulled out my GBA SP and inserted Pokemon Gold. And then noticed the HP Bar disapearing in my cartridge version.

That said, because of the lack of HP bar disapearing effect, when you use an attack that slightly dim the screen (not turn it completely black) there is a the HP bar becomes like half invisible. It's weird.

I tried my Pocket Monster Kin (Gold) cartridge, and the HP/EXP bar disappears when attacking. I don't know if they changed it for the Japanese VC release though.

It seems like Samus Returns is the last major release for 3ds while we're getting a couple smaller-scale games in the spring so I say by Summer 2018 unless they surprise us again

I'd say it'll be completely phased out by 2020. If Switch is indeed the next HH, then the 3DS is seeing it's senior push with Samus Returns, most likely one more Zelda game, and a surprise.

Depends on your definition.

There won't be an end date, just fewer and fewer releases...until they're done. Toward the very end, everything will be pretty bad.

But depending on how many games you've played and intend to play, you could be using it for several years. (I still haven't played all of the DS games that I want to play)

Unknown. Nintendo tends to keep a number of game announcements under wraps at any given time, so the thing could be killed off as soon as all currently announced 3DS games are out or it could be killed off several years from now.

I give it another year. It'll have maybe one or two major first party releases next fall but probably be quiet at the holidays to keep from stealing software/hardware sales from Switch.

I'm expecting Pokemon USUM to have even lower sales than B2W2, despite SM marginally outselling the original BW. It'll still sell millions, but it's definitely not reaching seven digits.

Gonna need to know more about 2018's lineup to know if it's going to be Summer or Winter. So far it's pretty underwhelming with a lot of late translations like Radiant Historia DX.

Regardless of how much is new, as a mainline Pokemon game, it's still gonna vastly outsell any Metroid game. I won't be surprised if even the M&L: SSS remake sells more than Samus Returns.

I suspect one last big game for Xmas 2018 and then it will phase out for the MiniSwitch which will have streetpass and other 3ds features for a truly portable Switch. Minus two screens of course. The big game will be Pokemon Z.

This pretty much.

Technically speaking, the Vita is still going and getting steady releases even though Sony has not released any games for it in a long while and many consider it "dead" to them. The 3DS will get to that same point eventually.

2018 will be the last strong year. Nintendo as a developer will definitely be done with the 3DS next year and it will be all in with the Switch. 3rd party developers will probably support it for another year or two. I would imagine the major ones would have move on after 2018 too. 2019 is when it will begin to decline completely. 2019 will probably get localizations of some 2018 games and indie games. 2020 is when it will probably be done altogether outside of an indie or a game made for a quick buck. The Eshop will last awhile though. Whether you are a 3DS fan, 3DS hater, or a bitter Wii U owner that blames the 3DS instead of Nintendo for making it a flop it is definitely slowing down. The 3DS won't be relevant after 2019. Everything is going as I predicted thus far. Those who wants the 3DS dead needs to chill out. It will happen in time so focus on other things instead of b****ing.

@LordArcadio

Well you guys can sure nitpick. The UB units i wouldn't consider them legends much less a fan of them. 2 new pokemon isnt enough to make ultra a sequal and that was my point. I would of liked to see more Alola designed pokemon from other gens besides Gen 1 as well as more exotic kinds. I wonder why they didnt make an eeveelution when they have a perfect opportunity to do so.

@LuigiFan835
I do agree with you tho about still outselling because it is a pokemon game regardless.
