A single 64GB card gave me access to tens of games! No cart switching and there's a beautiful home menu icon. Plus a lot of games come with help manuals!

Good for you.
Hm? Which ones have manuals?

I don't remember seeing the option, though admittedly I haven't been paying too much attention.

I stay with as many physical purchases on all my consoles except my Vita. I am almost 100% digital on my Vita and it's great, but keeping track of what is on each memory card can become a hassle if you get more than one.

I think you're going to have to bump of your SD card size if you want to go full digital. 128gb is the smallest I'd even consider going.

Eh. I'm super lazy, and I've gone almost entirely digital on PS4, but it seems so easy to swap these cartridges.
Congratulations. When is the parade?

The home icon is the same for both versions, isn't it? But anyways, it's definitely more convenient. I just like having the box and the cartridge so I'll stick to physical.
Then do it, why do you need to justify it to us?

Well physical games are outdated in my opinion. If you really want the art the you should invest in game guides amd such. I have the Mario Kart Prima Guide just for the artwork, which is Daisyless, but there is 2D art inside.

I went digital with switch, agree on the 128gb being minimum. It's doing its job for now but it'll run out of space soon enough so planning on upgrading.

physical simply because you can - let other people borrow/play your games - sell your games when you're done with them

if these don't apply to you then digital is probably better but for me they are 2 very important factors
Placiibo 2 days ago#17
You might as well buy 1 game physical since you have a card reader. Other than that, people go physical because with Amazon Prime or other deals because its cheaper (which is so stupid on Nintendos part).
Warning: the post you just read may contain satire, hyperbole, or deadpan. Reader digression is advised.
When I can backup/transfer my games via memory cards, then I will consider going all-digital.

Until then, as long as game companies insist on forcing you to rely on their servers for the ability to move or even play your games at all, f*** all-digital.

Maybe it's just me, but I normally don't switch between 15+ games in the range of 2.5 to 6 hours. Most people I know typically play one or max two games within that timeframe.

Good luck selling games you no longer want, or lending them to a friend, or even re-downloading them once the servers are taken offline however.

Physical games create a home menu icon as well.

I probably should have went digital for Splatoon 2, but it was cheaper physical, which is why I continue to get physical games, not to mention being able to sell after.

Are you actually confirming yourself as a troll now? I mean you've committed the amount of player icons to memory and you've apparently hacked your Switch to mod Minecraft, but after 6 months you've never noticed that physical games get separate UI icons?

yep i usually sell on ebay. the fees suck but there are also ebay promos pretty regularly (get 5 bonus dollars for every video game you sell is a recent one that sticks out) .. you get almost full value of the game on ebay so even after fees it's way above gamestop.. and if you sell during a promo you're barely losing anything off your initial purchase.

Already have a few of these and the newest one being Sonic Mania. Would really love to sell it and at least get a few dollars back...

Very nice to just pick up the Switch, choose a game and not have to switch carts.

I understand why people choose physical, but I never sell/trade my games so it doesn't matter to me.

If you're gonna get 3rd party AAA games, you're gonna have to upgrade that SD card real fast. lol. I'd say upgrading to 128GB to 200GB is future proof for a bit.
Less is more. Everything you want, isn't everything you need.
Physical is more appealing to me, you can find the games cheaper than on the E-Shop. Also you can lend them to friends, trade them in, display the cases/artwork. I understand the digital appeal, different strokes for different folks. With Amazon Prime you save 20% off the bat on physical which is also a plus, Nintendo needs to have E-Shop discounts to make it more affordable to consumers.

Well with certain AAA 3rd party games like NBA 2k18, you'll have to eventually go physical.

Also, there are deals for eshop cards ever so often if you know where to look. Neogaf is the best place to look.

I bought $140 worth of eshop cards for $115 in the past month alone.

I would have gone fully digital on the Switch if there as an actual account system for purchases. Like if my switch was lost, stolen, or destroyed I could just buy another, log-in, and have my purchases right there to redownload.

I have a few digital games, but most everything that has a physical cart, I have physical instead of digital. Granted, in any of those above scenarios I'm still hosed because we can't back up save data, but at least I don't lose any (many) purchases.

Digital games from Nintendo don't feel like something I own, they feel like something I rent from Nintendo with no guarantee it will still be there tomorrow.
