There. Now that I have your attention... I was not kidding about the title. Ash is really returning to Kanto briefly to battle Brock and Misty. Brock Mega Evolves his Steelix, Misty Mega Evolves her Gyarados. Source: Serebii.net.

It's not even his Steelix anymore! He gave his Onyx to his younger brother Forrest, and HE is the one who evolved it into Steelix He didn't give him Steelix... He lent it to him. Ever since Brock returned home after Sinnoh it was back in his hands.

Yeah, this practically confirms Sun/Moon anime to be set in an alternate reality.
Misty still has her Gen 1 look lmao. Wouldn't surprise me if this version of Ash never went beyond Johto. In Hoenn onward, anime Misty is shown with a new set of clothing. If this version of Ash never went beyond Johto, that means he never met Serena either. |

I dunno, I just can't get hype for this. Feels like it's a wasted moment of sorts, like it should've been saved for late into the series or have more of a touching setting, rather than just a one-and-done promotional battle series. We don't even get to see Brock and Misty check out Alola, which could've been awesome for their characters (Brock's studies would've been expanded on with Alolan forms, while Misty fits right in with an ocean setting). Screenshots do them no favours with how goofy they look either...
Hope that later on there becomes a mini-arc where the two of them meet up with Ash again in Alola instead, because this just seems too shallow. |

0/10, no evidence of something awful befalling Ash like him getting banished to the Shadow Realm or his Meganium going full yandere and murdering him for ditching her to get with all those other hussies because that's totally what happened and she's not delusional at all, followed by cutting his head off and riding off with it on a boat.
Or getting trampled by thirty Tauros that he presumed were his, but while he's in the hospital Oak tells him that his all got fat and lazy, so it must've been a completely unrelated herd of Tauros. When Ash asks "Why'd they all get fat and lazy? Why weren't you taking care of them?" Oak just stares at him with a look as cold as Regice and says "Why weren't you?". Then the episode hangs on them staring at each other for five straight minutes before cutting to commercial, and when it comes back it stays on that until the credits, which play in the corner with no audio. Next episode starts with Red arriving at Alola and no mention is ever made of what just happened. Ash is never brought up again. Edit - And also as the Red saga begins, Pokémon just make animal noises. Them saying their names over and over was just he-who-must-not-be-named constantly hallucinating. |

Can officially predict the future according to the mods. Will be willing to leak anything anyone wants.

Or it's like the pre-edit, and it's like, Brendan or one of the chuckleheads after him. |

Is this a apology from the director for keeping them out of the last pokemon movie? That triggered quite a few.people no doubt. No because these episodes would have been in production long before that. Anime episodes are planned, written, and produced over half a year before they air.

Pewter Gym's a Rock Gym, and Steelix is no longer a Rock-type. Maybe Forrest caught some Rock-types of his own to use in place of Brock's Pokémon.
