I already own three versions of Revelations and 2 of part 2 so I think I'll pass on the Switch ports, but good news for anyone interested.

Fuck... I already spent 15 on the Vita version and I have the first on my 2ds. Playing Resident Evil Rev 1 with proper controls will be great though.

Should've just made RE7 instead...

At retail across North America you will find these two games as a combo pack dubbed Resident Evil Revelations Collection, which includes one cartridge with Revelations as well as a digital download voucher for Revelations 2 for $39.99. Both games will be available as individual digital downloads at $19.99 each.

Wouldn't be Capcom without something being fucking stupid.

At the very least this confirms they are using the HD version as the base and not doing something dumb like porting the 3DS version which would be easier to get running. This isn't the first time something like this was done due to cartridge space. Look at Final Fantasy X/X2 on Vita.

Damn, it's just a digital voucher for RE: R2? I went from "Cool, I'll get it!" to "meh, maybe I'll get it"

Also, I don't know if RE:R2 has it, but we really need the horde mode for switch as well

Wow, I didn't expect the Switch to get a port of both games. Very glad about this. Gotta try to hold off getting it for PS4 in exchange for getting it for Switch. It be nice to have a portable version of REvelations 2 that works like the PS4/X1 version.

I hope the losers who ported it to vita stay the hell away from this. If capcom had been involved in the first place, the vita port would have been nearly on par with the console. Outsource the work, get crappy results. Do your own ports.

Lol, even on the tiny 2DS screen, the first game had plenty great jump scares...

Literally scared the hell out of me plenty of times. That game was pretty good considering the limitations of the 3DS...

Dunno if I actually want to buy this on Switch though.

The Vita version definitely does have framerate problems (and I'm a guy who didn't have much issue with BL2 on Vita besides in Sanctuary City and the constant crashing), but I noticed in REV2 Vita, I noticed near Sanctuary City level slowdown in intense action sections which is unforgivable...

I wish I'd known Switch was getting REV2 before spending 15 on the Vita version. For 5 extra, I could have had the full version on a superior handheld. I can't even sell it back cause I bought it digitally. Fuck it, I'll be sticking to the Vita version...

Yeah, it quickly went from a Day 1 purchase to a maybe after seeing Revelations 2 was a digital voucher. If it all can't fit on one cartridge, I would have paid an extra $10 to just have two cartridges.

The first Revelations was pretty solid on the 3DS and I've yet to play the sequel, so I may still pick it up.

Indie games are usually quite small.

On PS3, RE Revelations is 11.3GB and RE Revelations 2 is 8GB, and on PS4, RE Revelations 2 is 23.1GB. (Sizes from the European PlayStation Store, other Stores might vary a bit).

Assuming that the game uses better assets than the PS3 versions of each game (so Revelations could easily be 25GB+), with each game being potentially >16GB, that'd require two separate 32GB cards to release both games in one package on Switch, plus a custom box.

I quite liked those games a lot, specially the second one.

They still have that RE4 style of gameplay, but with less emphasis on the action and more emphasis on the exploration, survival and puzzles. I actually liked the REV games WAY more than RE4-6.

Revelations 2 is absolutely a better game than Rev 1.

After the initial hype of having a mainline, handheld RE game wore off, it's really easy to see that Rev 1 is a very poorly paced game with some piss poor enemy design. Replaying the HD versions just made it more apparent. Revelations 2 isn't perfect, but 's definitely the more thoughtfully designed game overall.

Of all the games they could have ported, had to be revelations.

    Sigh.

    Gotta start somewhere I guess.

Revelations 2 is my favourite "modern" RE. Yeah, I like it better than RE4 (which is still awesome). Actually, it's my third favourite RE game, beaten only by RE1 and RE2.

Revelations 1 is... a bait and switch through and through. 1/3 of the chapters, where you get to explore the boat with Jill, are great. The rest is just RE5 Light.

And of course the better game had to be digital only. I really hope Asia gets a physical copy with full English support.

Sold my copy of Revelations for the 3DS. Never picked it up for another system or played 2, so this may be a purchase for me.

It's kind of stupid that 2 is the digital-only game when that's the newer one and also the one that has not been on Nintendo platforms before.
I hope Grasshopper's new PS4 game LET IT DIE will also come to the Nintendo Switch!

Fuck... I already spent 15 on the Vita version and I have the first on my 2ds. Playing Resident Evil Rev 1 with proper controls will be great though.

    Should've just made RE7 instead...

holy shit, Capcom is actually trying to deliver. they said they would support the Switch more and they are proving it? that's new lol

RE7 would've been better but hey, at least its a start lol

They're probably gonna wait and port the eventual RE7 All Content release when they finally manage to release it all, lol.

This is awesome though. The gameplay of REV1 is decent even if the story is the worst in the main series (possibly the whole series period) and REV2 is in my top 5 RE games so this is an instabuy from me.

Rev 1 has had proper controls for over 4 years now.

Aint playing them on a stationary system when there are portable options.

Then get a CPP or New 3DS.

The first game I never finished because it was stolen at a house party my roomate had. Shitty luck for me.

These news do benefit me. The fact they're coming as a pack is bonus. Thanks TC.

I wish I'd known Switch was getting REV2 before spending 15 on the Vita version. For 5 extra, I could have had the full version on a superior handheld. I can't even sell it back cause I bought it digitally. Fuck it, I'll be sticking to the Vita version...

And that's why I buy physical.
