- Still hate how anti consumer stuff like Yo-Kai Watch is
Pokémon is this way too but I feel I won't go anywhere with that argument. The fans will buy any game they release so it's a lost cause.
What's my point? Multiple versions of games is outdated. Especially third versions. It pisses me off games like Yo-Alain Watch 2 just screw the loyal fans by milking them dry. They add like 5 new quests to the overall experience and they expect you to fork out another 40 dollars. Are you kidding me? There's this thing called DLC. You can easily have just made this 10 dollars and people would have bought it. But you release multiple versions of your game to try and nickel and dime people. Second versions? Why? The point was to get you to trade your friends. A robust trading environment would still exist without 2 versions. It's so annoying. The idea of multiple versions is dead. Pokémon realized this when they did Black 2 and White 2 instead of something like Grey. I'm not going to comment on US and UM because there isn't enough information. I'm betting it's a shallow third version though and all their real effort is going into Pokémon Switch. It's even more insulting with Yo-Kai Watch. THE THIRD VERSION WAS ALREADY OUT FOR A YEAR IN JAPAN. They still decided to nickel and dime and port the first two games and then release the third. Why are you screwing over your small fan base as it is? Monster Hunter doesn't do this crap to the west at least. They released the S version when we waited to long. This is bull****. inb4 but they are game of the year editions!!!!!! Most game of the year editions don't offer exclusive content (I know you'll point out the 1 exception as gospel). The worst fact is FANS are defending this crap. I'm sorry, we are the CONSUMER. Why are you defending the company? Why don't you just write a check of $10000000000 to them right now? Why is there a double standard and this practice of this versions isn't considered worse than DLC? You basically are paying for the same game with 5 new quests.

The 3rd version is superior in all ways of Yo Kai Watch 2. I get where your coming from but It's also about training up your yo Kai and enjoying it and residing those version exclusives with each other
Yo Kai watch 2: Psychic specters you are able to choose between which side you want: Bony or Fleshy without paying for either version. Adds more side quests and more side quests that do with the story and yo Kai. Extra areas with more battles and yo Kai to befriend Exclusive yo Kai to befriend like Dark Kyubi. Wicked Yo Kai finally able to be befriended. Blasters is updated to boss mode.

Uh, no, having only one version would completely destroy the need to play with other players. Why trade with others if you can get everything on one game? You're not intended to buy both versions, you never were. You're were supposed to just buy one version, then play with someone else to get everything, and with the advent of online play, there's no more "I don't have any friends" excuse.

I guess every online game needs to ship with multiple versions. Why not let COD have two versions each with exclusive guns to trade! That popular game CS:GO with trading? It's failing so hard because it doesn't have two versions....

Not sure how that's really anti-consumer. Or how any of the claims are really apt.
As for Pokemon's two versions strategy, that was more about encouraging cooperation between players and fostering a community. You've totally missed the point of the franchise. The key was *always* trading, etc. As for usability patches, the Pokemon games have been improving each gen including making TMs reusable so you don't need to restart a game to get a new TM.

Seriously, I just don't get it. I see a lot of people complain about Amiibos locking costumes. However, a company locks some quests and asks you to replay the same damn game to reach them is fine? What?????
40 dollars is fine??? People complain about season passes that are fourty dollars. Why isn't this the same thing? You are the CONSUMER. Why are you justifying this? How do you justify this?

What????? Regarding Pokemon, both versions are exactly the same game. If you play one version, then you've played the other. If you buy the other version, that's all on you.

You don't have to buy these s***ty games to begin with; they're just trying to keep their company afloat for longer with higher profit margin, can't blame them for that if kids are dumb enough to get the products.
There's only 24 hours in a day, just do whatever the f*** you enjoy and dismiss the rest. I never played any Yokai-Watch or MMORPG in my life, and all my hours are still filled up with stuff such as reading, exercizing, sleeping, sex, different videogames, dating, joking around, forums, family matters, etc. Just do something else man.

Not sure how that's really anti-consumer. Or how any of the claims are really apt. While true, it can be handled far better than having multiple versions. Instead, there should be 1 version and upon starting a new game, the game should semi-randomize where what wild Pokemon are found and which Legendaries show up. Not only does that accomplish the same goal, but it also increases replayability of the games. |
Yo Kai Watch is "s***ty Wannabe Pokemon".
Pokemon isn't anti-consumer. It all depends on how it's handled. Pokemon is absolutely NOT designed for 1 player to both games. It was designed for the community. That's why working with just yourself is painful until recently. If you REALLY wanted to be that solo guy, you needed the equipment of TWO people. The reason the versions exist is absolutely so you go to your friends and tell them you're getting X so they should get Y. Its about teamwork, cooperation and the like. It's not designed for just 1 player to do it all. It's made predictable for this reason as well. You get the full experience of Pokemon with a single game. You don't need to play both- in fact, you're outright NOT SUPPOSED TO. At all. You're putting that $40 price tag on it yourself. A game that has zero reason to be more than one version, like Fire Emblem Fates, now THAT is anti-consumer. That game is really a gimmick to sell some DLC. It's a single game, cut into 3 pieces. To get the full experience, you have to play all 3 routes, which are locked behind paywalls. A game that gives 2 versions with minor differences to facilitate Multiplayer, facilitates Multiplayer. A game that gives 2-3 versions with MAJOR differences is a rip off. |

It would be annoying to have your playthrough randomly generate the Legendary you didn't want to get and then have to play for many hours to finally find out it's not the one you wanted, and then deal with trying to trade it off for what you do want and can't as easily control the Nature you get for it. |

Current versions of Pokemon make it super simple to get all the version exclusives from the other game; you can either wonder trade and hope or just use the GTS. If you're offering up fair trades, it takes pretty much no time at all. You're even given an extra legendary to swap. This past gen has made it easier than ever to fill in the 'dex.
