I seriously doubt VC is coming any time soon.
They have to keep milking the mini classic consoles for scalpers to sell on Ebay. After they release the N64 Classic and the Gamecube classic, the next Nintendo console will be out and Switch will be forgotten.
Now playing: Suikoden II (Vita), Resident Evil: Revelations (PC), Sonic Mania (Switch)

VC is not a question of if, but when. After all, why in the world would they NOT want to sell all of their NES games AGAIN? It's practically free money in their pockets. Why do that when they can just make more plug n plays?

It would be disappointing, but I guess it saves me a ton of money.

"Nintendo lives off nostalgia, they don't make any new games" I want both? They are actually do a good job of failing at both depending on what you enjoy playing. They have really slowed down on making new IP for sure, and they haven't released a quality Metroid in years. Plus we got new hardware we like, so the demand is high for all the games.

I'll be okay as long as we get ports of key games from Wii and Wii U (and ideally N64 and Gamecube). I'm generally not a fan of re-releases and remasters, but I missed numerous titles from the last few Nintendo generations and I am not motivated to go through the trouble of buying those consoles for a handful of games.
My original SNES still works and I still have a bunch of games for it, so I'm not too concerned about games from that era. Also, retropie and various emulators are a thing, but I'd be willing to buy remasters/ports for convenience factor.
Currently (re)playing: BoTW, Persona 5, Pillars of Eternity, and SMT: Nocturne

"Nintendo lives off nostalgia, they don't make any new games" Definitely the second one. I have no problem with Nintendo living off nostalgia. I don't even think that's true...but whatever. I like the series Nintendo has to offer. If they come out with a new IP here and there great! But I buy Nintendo consoles for Zelda, Mario, Donkey Kong, Pokemon, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Fire Emblem, Kirby, Pikmin, Metroid, Star Fox, etc. |
No Virtual Console in the same style as Wii, Wii U and 3DS? Good.
They need to kill the "Virtual Console" brand and bring it back as the "Nintendo Classic" subscription service. Pay however many dollars per month and get access to every game on the system. I have no interest in buying individual NES/SNES/64 games again. I only bought two or three VC games on Wii U and that was because they cost 30c. I barely even played them after that anyway.
Fact: Nintendo is the best, there is no point denying it.

I have Wii U and all my Wii VC library on it. I show my children the games of my childhood and let them get into it before bringing them up to today's games.
Switch not having it doesn't bother me at all. I think the half assed attempt on Wii U is a good sign they don't think it's worth the investment, and I'd rather all their teams spent time on making fantastic experiences on Switch.
Switch - PS4 - Wii U - PS3 - 3DS - GameCube - Xbox One.

I plan to do the same thing (if I fail to get them away from games :) ). What is their reaction toward these games ? Not trolling, but the best Virtual console will remain on the VITA, for obvious reasons :).

I know it's highly unlikely but how would you react if Nintendo came out and said it wouldn't be supported? Wouldn't bother me, I have every Nes,Snes,Gb,Gbc,GBa,N64++ game I want on my handheld emulator system anyway (GPD XD). I'm not going to pay VC prices for games anyway.

I've already been looking into various emulation machine options for this reason. I'd like something handheld like the GPD XD or another modded PSP/Go or even just a decent Android tablet and an 8bitdo controller. That's probably for the best anyway. Is there any reasonably priced portable machine that can emulate GCN flawlessly?

Guess I will stick to playing classic games on a tablet.

My $500 2 year old laptop emulates it flawlessly, with substantial upgrades. An Intel HD graphics chip is fine. Many Windows tablets would do the job. |

It must be Dolphin being iffy on some of the recent versions because my 1060 3GB can barely run it at 1080p with 4x antialiasing. I've heard Dolphin doesn't play well with Nvidia cards.Even my most peaceful and calm posts are somehow designed to belittle those that disagree with me even a little, get used to it~!- Boards
