I feel like Flygon would be the obvious choice here, becoming bug/dragon... but even more than that, the Gastly line shouldve been ghost/dark... My reasoning is how the show depicts them as pranksters since season 1. They already learn a fine arsenal of dark type moves through tm's. What pokemon would you retype if you could?

Agree with the Vibrava/Flygon Bug/Dragon retype. My biggest gripe is the amount of overlooked potential Fairy types: Happiny/Chansey/Blissey - Fairy Audino - Fairy Smoochum/Jynx - Fairy/Ice Celebi - Grass/Fairy Cresselia - Fairy Manaphy - Water/Fairy Victini - Fire/Fairy Lake Trio - Psychic/Fairy

So yall dont have any reasoning behind the typings? Blastoise wouldnt make sense as a water/steel because its body is not comprised of steel. It has cannons on its back, but they could easily be made of the same material as a fire hose... also thay would ruin the gen 1 starter balance as venusaur is now completely useless against the other starters.

This is really random but...Shellmet should be Bug/Steel. If Escavalier is part Steel because of the helmet, Shellmet should be to. It would make sense for the two lines to flip-flop their typings too, since Karrablast steals Shellmets helmet. Lake Trio should be Psychic/Fairy since their names come from Pixie, Sprite, and Elf. Plus they are cute diminuitive creatures that are surprisingly dangerous in-universe. Celebi should be Grass/Fairy since its a cute nature sprite with insect wings. Plus the 4x weakness to Poison would make sense since it could allude to pollution.

I can see Celebi being grass/fairy, especially after watching the movie with him in it... the Lake Trio doesnt give off any fairy vibes though. It feels like they are from outer space, tying in with the theme of gen.4

Zoroark into Dark/Ghost. The kitsune legends Zoroark is based on often depict them as creatures of spirit or spirit-like, even if they are flesh and blood. It would also give Zoroark more immunities, making it more useful to bait opponents into using those kinds of attacks against them. Zorua should remain straight Dark, however. It's not fully matured, so it's more limited by flesh and blood.

Reasoning behind typing for the fairies is that they're, well, fairies. Reasoning behind Arceus and the Unown is that normal and psychic just seem too boring for divine pokemon from some higher realm. Reasoning behind Haxorus is the axe tusks and metallic plates.

Blastoise definitely looks like he has steel cannons on his back. Not like Lucario looks like he's made of steel himself. Also, that doesn't really matter. Plenty of starters are like that. Infernape will beat Empoleon, Fraligatr will beat Meganium, Greninja will beat Chestnaught.
