You can not even buy the damn thing from their website. You have to look far and hard on the internet and find it at "questionable" whole sale sites that still have the thing from 3+ years ago when they did sell it.
IF ANYONE wanted to actually sue Nintendo over the Switch, the only one who has a chance is Razer being they own the patents to the first gaming tablet with a attachable controller. That and they advertised it to the gaming community and brought it to gaming events. So they would have the best chance to sue Nintendo, claiming it hurt the brand/sales or what ever. But these Wikipad people are a joke, they just make cheap bluetooth controllers that attach to mobile devices. The Wikipad was just a bundle of a cheap tablet with a controller they made. Literally ripped from the Razer Edge. |

Since the Switch doesn't do it like that, it's not violating the patent, so suing Nintendo based on this is going to be hard. Also, as others have pointed out, there's prior art for what the Switch is doing from Nintendo themselves dating back to the Wii days.

Exactly. That's what I don't understand. What do they have to gain from this? Do they think that once their questionable lawsuit gets the Switch banned, the stage is clear for their tablet that has controllers strapped to it? Getting tree fiddy in royalties per Switch sold is that absolute most they can expect from it, and even then, the chances aren't good.

I am legitimately surprised it took this long before Nintendo got sued. I mean, normally there are like 10 lawsuits on the first day.

I wouldn't call them losers. I mean look at us. How many of us have even just heard of Wikipad before? I most certainly haven't. Today it's in everybody's mouth simply because of this lawsuit. Now of course this isn't giving them the most positive reputation, but at least we know who they are now. That alone is a success. And that alone already allowed them to share a little success with the Switch.
Bad publicity is better than no publicity.
