I've finally decided that rather than taking sets from Youtube videos, Reddit, Smogon, etc. I'll form my own pokemon sets to fit my individual needs. Thing is, I find it really hard to choose between decisions (one I had earlier is should I give a TR Machamp Bulk Up, Rock Slide or Knock Off or if I should give Oranguru the mental herb, leftovers, etc.) and I decided that since I'll be having a week off electronics (a yearly thing my dad makes, he says it gives us a cleanse of electronics) starting tomorrow, I'll get a notebook, pen, calculator and my "Pokemon Sun and Moon The Official Alola Region Pokedex & Postgame Adventure Guide" and attempt to make as many competitive sets as possible. Any tips to make competitive pokemon sets, considering my problem with choosing moves, abilities, natures, EVs, IVs, etc.

First of all, what are you playing?
Singles? Doubles? Battle Spot, VGC, OU? Or just something between irl friends? After you decide that, a great idea is to look at what the other people who play the same format do and copy them. Keep copying them until you get the hang of the game, so you can make your own strategies. For strategies on singles go to Smogon, for doubles go to Trainer Tower. There are a lot of youtube channels that help too. And stay clear of this forum when it comes to battle advice, most people here will just troll you.
