I can already see it. Bunch of units are not playable without amiibos of those units, not just the standard Marth, Roy, etc amiibos. Hell, even support conversations will not be viewable without amiibos. Besides making amiibos based off of characters, Nintendo will produce new amiibos in the shape of support conversations.
Oh you want these two units to have a child? Better get a child amiibo, because marriage won't help you have kids anymore. Considering how Fire Emblem has so much more to abuse amiibos with than Metroid, Metroid's BS will look like a saintly move compared to all this.

Can you imagine if the only way to get certain legendaries was through blind-boxed amiibo cards with a super high rarity? Kudos to GameFreak for not doing this (yet, anyway...), 'cause I betcha Nintendo asked them to.

The best case scenario for everyone (if this happened that is) would be to make an amiibo-series of TCG cards (like the e-Series of TCG over a decade ago), and have the content unlocked immediately when using them. These could be harder to obtain Pokemon (ie: Beldum, Feebas, starters, etc), various items (vitamins, berries, potions), and under smaller numbers, shiny Pokemon. Maybe even some special outfits. They might consider event cards as well, but I'd imagine they'd release the event later wirelessly like they've done with the Mega Stones recently for Sun/Moon to avoid as much backlash as possible.

The problem isn't the price for those Amiibo but the stock. Most of them are impossible to find and most people have to resolve to pirate them to use in game.

The stock shortage is not the only problem. Hell, it would be the only problem if they were just figurines. The DLC's locked behind each of the amiibos are a problem, too. Thus, with the upcoming Metroid Samus Returns Fusion costumes, since it requires amiibos, you're basically paying 15 dollars to use a Fusion costume. That's bullshit if you ask me. And it's gotten to a point where nearly every Nintendo Direct they're announcing a new amiibo. It's basically Nintendo announcing new DLCs but without them calling it DLCs. It's even shittier than already shitty DLC practices in other games because despite how shitty said DLCs are, at least everyone has access to them. Not enough people have access to amiibos to begin with, so not everyone can access Nintendo DLCs.

Nintendo reprints all of the exclusive amiibo. Correct me if I am wrong but male Corrin and female Corrin amiibo have the same functionality. Amazon always puts up amiibo around the same time. I was able to purchase one and I don't think Corrin P2 was prime locked.

You had to transfer a Pokemon into gen 4 that was holding an eReader berry. That berry would morph into the Enigma berry in gen 4. This was before they made the Enigma Berry a reward on one of the Gamecube Pokemon games. In later generations, they distributed the Enigma Berry the same way they distributed other event berries.

Pointless complaining. Nintendo has millions of diehard fans that will buy anything with Nintendo stamped on it. To make them coming back for more, they will produce a limited amount so the fans will rush out to buy it.

The reality, not everyone unfortunately is as fortunate as you. If there's no one nearby that has said amiibo, then yer shit outta luck, my friend. Also, I don't give a shit if my friend has all the amiibo that I can use. That's not the point. It doesn't matter whether all it takes is to put the toy in n'out and boom, we unlock it in game. It's about principle. Nintendo is now starting to normalize locking contents in their own games when they use to bash said practice. People were justifiably angry at companies like Capcom for locking DLC content in-disk and what Nintendo is doing isn't exactly any different now. As if that wasn't bad enough, at least everyone who bought Street FIghter V can access the DLCs if they pay. With NIntenod's BS of limited supply, they can't even do that.

I kinda want the Amiibo functionality in it for Sun and Moon. Just think. We could get costume from the Amiibo we have. Mario Outfit, Samus Outfit, Pikachu Outfit. Just about any outfit depending on what Amiibo we use.
